Punters can get stuck into football action from all divisions this week

Arsenal have had an up and down season so far, but followers of them on the spreads recently will be starting to feel more confident. They managed to defeat Roma on penalties and have now managed to wrest the fourth league spot back from Aston Villa. The FA Cup could still be their most likely route to silverware though and spread bettors will be expecting a win against Hull on Tuesday night. However, anyone who has placed a spread bet this season will know not to write off the Tigers when they come prowling around the capital. They have played five games in London this season, winning three (Arsenal, Spurs and Fulham), drawing one (Chelsea) and losing just the once (West Ham). The Gunners have been installed as 1.7-1.9 point spread favourites with Sporting Index and although buyers will be worried about the aforementioned stat, they are at least safe in the knowledge that Arsenal are unbeaten at home in the FA Cup since 1997/98. They have played eight sixth round ties since the Premier League began, winning five and drawing three. However, buyers on Sporting Index's outright tournament market will be pleased that they have made it to the semi-finals in all eight.

With a break this week from the drama of the Champions League, spread punters will have to turn their attention to slightly poorer fayre. The Championship is anything but dull at the moment though and one game which will be of interest is Reading's trip to Doncaster. The Royals were most spread bettors' idea of the title winners just a few weeks ago, but their form has slipped alarmingly and they need to grab back hold of the bit for the run-in. They have only won one of their last eight games, but spread buyers of their supremacy at 0.3 will be pleased to hear that although Doncaster have been in form lately, they have lost their last three games against teams in the top 10. The Royals have won the last four meetings between the clubs and have also won 23 of the 35 historical contests. Both sides have been involved in some relatively high scoring encounters in the past month, but spread goal buyers will be very concerned that there have been less than three goals in 17 of Rovers' 19 home games this season, whilst 12 of the Royals last 17 home and away have been under this figure.

Wednesday night sees in-form Cardiff host Watford who are still threatened by relegation. The Bluebirds have games in hand on their rivals and still look to hold an outside chance of automatic promotion. Spread betting punters would automatically look at this game as a banker home win as Cardiff have won 11 of their 17 home league games, whilst the Hornets have only picked up three wins on their travels this season. However, Watford have won five and drawn three of the last eight meetings between the sides. The Sporting Index traders' goal quote will probably be quite high for this game; eight of the last nine between the sides have seen at least three goals, whilst there have been 15 goals in Watford's last four games.
