NOV 29TH: D-DAY FOR PREMIERSHIP BOSSES
London, 8th August 2007 – Spread Betting Bookmakers Sporting Index are predicting that one unlucky Premiership gaffer will be the first to get the boot on Thursday 29th November 2007. Last year it was Charlton’s Iain Dowie who was first to suffer the chairman’s wrath on Monday 13th November, but with scores of cash being spent this summer - and a whole host of new owners - managers this term are under even more pressure to get results.
Could November 29th be a Black Thursday for Gareth Southgate at Middlesbrough, or will Lawrie Sanchez be returning to Northern Ireland with his tail between his legs?
The experts are also predicting that Manchester United will retain their title, but it will be a close-run thing with Jose Mourinho’s men missing out on the trophy by one heartbreaking point. United are forecast to finish up with 85 points, Chelsea 84 and Liverpool 76. The arrival of Sven and Thaksin Shinawatra (or Frank Sinatra to the Blues faithful) at Eastlands has seen a very active transfer period for Manchester City, but they are still only predicted to end the season with a disappointing 47 points.
