ARSNEAL SMASH SPORTING INDEX ONCE AGAIN

London, 24th October 2007 – It was raining goals at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday as Arsenal ripped apart Slavia Prague to equal the biggest ever Champions League victory ever. Sporting Index thought it couldn’t get any worse than when Arsenal beat Liverpool 6-3 at Anfield in January, but with punters piling in on Arsenal’s total goals it turned out to be probably the worst Champions League night ever on the trading floor.

One Manchester-based lawyer won nearly £100,000 betting on total goals, whilst Man United’s 4-2 victory in Kiev was another terrible result for the spread betting firm. “Arsenal are on fire at present and they have severely burnt us once again,” comments Sporting Index spokesperson Karl Suntay, “We really didn’t think it could get as bad as last January, but as the famous commentator once said: “Our boys took one hell of a beating.”
