ORANGE AND YELLOW BALLS

With snow forecast this weekend, Sporting Index predict eight FA Cup ties will be played using an orange or yellow ball

London, 3rd January 2008 - The weather forecasters are suggesting this weekend could see the first major snowfall of the year, just in time for the third round of the FA Cup. Many supporters will fondly remember the days when winter games were played using an orange ball and spread betting company Sporting Index are predicting eight of the weekend’s 32 FA Cup ties will be played with either an orange or yellow one.

“A number of grounds across the country now have under-soil heaters, so it’s unlikely that too many games will be called off,” comments Sporting Index spokesperson Karl Suntay, “But we all remember the iconic orange balls and we could see a fair few kicked about this weekend.”
