MONEY FLOODS IN FOR TORIES
London, 11th May 2007 – Spread Betting Bookmakers Sporting Index have seen a wave of support for David Cameron’s Conservative Party and are now predicting they’ll win as many as 310 seats at the next General Election. Even though Gordon Brown this afternoon promised his party that he had the ‘new ideas’, the ‘vision’ and ‘the experience to earn the trust of the British people’, punters have been desperate to oppose Labour.
“It’s been an incredible three days of betting”, says Sporting Index spokesman Wally Pyrah, “our prediction on Conservative seats have jumped from 285 to 310 in days”. At the same time, the firm has also collapsed their prediction on Labour seats to close to 260 from around 280 at the beginning of the week. “
As it stands, we currently have the Tories in front by nearly 40 seats”, adds Pyrah, “Mr Brown has some catching up to do”.
Interestingly, the firm has not taken a single bet in support of Labour for over 48 hours.
