Sporting Index predict world record holder Muttiah Muralitharan will go on to take 955 career test wickets
London, 5th December - Muttiah Muralitharan made history in Kandy last week when he broke Shane Warne’s world record of 708 test wickets. The Sri Lankan off spinner has bamboozled his opponents for years and many people think he won’t be calling it a day in the near future. Spread betting company Sporting Index are predicting the man with the famous ‘doosra’ will go on to take a total of 955 test wickets before he hangs up his spikes.
“Murali is undoubtedly one of the best, if not the best, bowlers of all time,” comments Sporting Index spokesperson Karl Suntay, “He doesn’t eat quite as many burgers and pizzas as Shane Warne, so there is every chance he will still be taking wickets in a number of years – who knows, he could get a thousand!”
