Sporting Index is recognised as the world leader in its field, having captured approximately 70% of the UK's sports spread betting market. We pride ourselves on our innovation and try to lead the market whenever possible. Here are some of our key milestones:

  • In 1992 Sporting Index was founded with just 5 members of staff and 50 clients. The company now caters for well over 45,000 spread bettors with an expanded team of over 150 staff, half of which are based on the trading desk.

  • In 2000 we launched the first truly interactive sports spread betting website, www.sportingindex.com, and we now take 80% of all our bets online.

  • In August 2001 we launched the facility for clients to create mythical spread betting markets for themselves to bet on. This gives clients the ability to pit two teams or players together that are not directly facing or playing each other i.e you could do so through our 'multiples' service

  • In November 2003 we launched our 'Bet on the Move' service. It was the UK's first java based mobile betting application. Clients can bet on all online markets, view open bets, close bets, deposit and withdraw money through their mobile phones. Any of our clients can download this great service by clicking here.

  • In August 2004 we launched the world's first spread betting games, enabling clients to bet on a wide range of exciting casino and sports games all based on the thrilling concept of spread betting. Click here to experience them.

  • In October 2006 we launched our very own Poker website, www.sportingindexpoker.co.uk, which enables you to play against thousands of other players throughout the world on our leading poker network.

  • In March 2007 we launched our dedicated Irish website www.sportingindex.ie specifically for our Irish customers. On the site we provide markets on every Irish horse race as well as all live GAA matches. 

  • In September 2007 we won "Mobile operator of the year" at the e-Gaming Review awards for 'Bet on the Move'.
