Frankie Dettori’s Sporting Index blog: Looking forward to riding Campanelle
Friday starts with the Albany Stakes (2:30pm) and I'm riding the favourite, Flotus.
She's owned by a good friend of mine, Ed Babington, so it would be brilliant if I could do it for him.
She was impressive first time out at Goodwood and when I went to go and sit on her last week she gave me a nice feel.
Aidan [O'Brien] tends to run a good one in this so I'll be keeping half an eye on Prettiest too.
I'm looking forward to Campanelle in the Commonwealth Cup (3:40pm).
She did very little wrong last season, winning the Queen Mary in very good fashion and then beating the colts in the Prix Morny.
Having then gone up to the mile at the Breeders' Cup it was plainly obvious she didn't get the trip.
I've been to see her a couple of times in the build-up to this and she seems in good order.
I wouldn't swap her for anything else that's for sure.
In the Coronation Stakes (4:20pm) I've got Pretty Gorgeous for Joseph [O'Brien].
She's got some super form as a two-year-old but disappointed a little in the Irish 1000 Guineas on her first start this season.
She was a well-backed favourite for that race but conditions looked very testing and that may not have entirely suited her.
It was also her first run of the campaign so hopefully she'll come on for it.
I won the Guineas on Mother Earth so I've obviously got a lot of respect for her and she's the one we all have to beat.
Kestenna would have every chance in what looks a typically competitive Sandringham (5:00pm).
She gave me a good spin last time out at York and I'm looking forward to getting on her again.
Grand Bazaar in the Duke Of Edinburgh Stakes (5:35pm) is my final ride on the Friday.
He's a solid, consistent horse who stays the 1m4f trip well and should put up a good fight, but you need plenty of luck in a big-field handicap like this.
